Welcome to my micro space in this huge web . Without going into much details, I wish to share with you a few things that drove me to come up with this blog.
My love for Tamil language was kindled by my beloved grandfather, Late Shri E.V. Varadarajan thatha, who was a voracious Tamil reader and scholar. From what I could see around me, there were, are & will be some really fantastic and awe inspiring books, articles, blogs & websites dedicated for revealing the richness and magnificence of Tamil language to this world. However, I could see that people, especially the current generation of youth are unaware of the richness of our own mother tongue , partly due to the fact that Tamil is not greatly encouraged to be read & savoured apart from usual academics and due to under coverage(not easily accessible) of Tamil articles/literature in online world.
Actually, there are already several quality contents in online & offline world and truly, its a seeker's paradise out there. My intend with this blog is to create an awareness to our youth regarding the lasting legacy of our Tamil heritage and also kindle their interest in Tamil. Rather than searching Google aimlessly without knowing what all exists in Tamil literature, my blog would serve as a reference point for enthusiasts, who can further explore about it on their own.
At best, this blog is rather my online personal diary where I will research, collate and assimilate all my good old Tamil memories given by my thatha. That's a refreshing walk for me, down the lane :)
In future, based on my free time, I would be adding Tamil audio/help files that would guide the reader on proper pronunciation/diction of the Tamil verse. Also, an English translation or at least a transliteration of my posts in on the cards.
As with other things in life, eventually this blog would be refined over the time.
Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome.
Keep exploring....

Hi,
ReplyDeleteWhy is this post alone in English?
It would have been better if you could have also added a small introduction post in Tamil.
Your Tamil communication is more endearing to read and feel!

You have a good command over both Tamizh & English languages. Good going.
